Confession – Day 84 – October 9, 2014

My friends got me a beautiful deluxe juicer for my birthday.
It arrived today.

I must confess.
I was more interested in the bubble wrap at first…

My Secret Super Power – Day 85 – October 8, 2014

If I had a super power, it would be a cloud of pink, purple and blue that wraps around people who need love and protection.
The cloud would keep them safe.
The cloud would erase their pain.

This week, I wish I had this super power.
There are a few people that I’d like to wrap in my pink, purple and blue cloud.
And just make them better.

Yoga – Day 86 – October 7, 2014

To regain balance in my life, I have decided to try yoga.
I really enjoyed it tonight.
And I am ready for more!

The yoga teacher Melanie asked us to think of one thing that makes us fabulous and wonderful.
“What makes you YOU?”

In my slightly awkward and wobbly warrior pose, I thought about my kindness.
And I thought about how I need to be kind to myself too.

Thank you for a lovely evening.
I am glad I went.

Laundry = Therapy – Day 89 – October 4, 2014

Some people run.
Some people eat.
Some people do kickboxing.

I do laundry.
Separating the pile.
Sorting the colours.
Placing them in the machine.
Listen to the whir.
Hanging them out to dry.
Folding them with love and care.
Ironing them with even more love and care.

It’s my therapy.

Hardest Word to Say – Day 90 – October 3, 2014

“Sorry seems to be the hardest word.”
So says Elton John.

For me, it’s not sorry.
For me, it’s “help”.

Asking for help.
Admitting my vulnerability.
Saying that I can’t do it alone.
That’s hard.

Thinking of You – Day 91 – October 2, 2014

My niece (whom I talk about a lot, I know) just recently started primary school in Taiwan.

This doodle is for her.
To remind her that each day, we courageously embark on a new journey.
Some of us go to school.
Some of us go to work.
Some of us go far.
Some of us have to trudge in the same place for a while till things work out.

It’s never easy for anyone.
So be courageous, be kind and know that you are not alone when you feel weak, vulnerable or weepy.
We have all been there.

So hold your head up. Smile. Walk in like you own the world.
