Appreciation Day 13/28

My almost 11 year old niece is an aspiring opera singer.

There are certain times of the day when she will most definitely be flexing her vocals.

I appreciate children’s unabashed passion for what they enjoy and their ability to just be in the moment anytime, any day and anywhere.

How to Manage Very Small Children

With small children, there are three supreme rules:

1. Never wake sleeping children.

2. Never interrupt their play.

3. Never stop them when they are deep in concentration.

Appreciation Day 12/28

On a warm, sunny winter’s day, we went to fetch my niece from school.

There were pretty spring flowers along the way, and it was lovely to see all the happy faces coming out of school after a busy day.

Most of all, to see that one special little face emerge, happy and excited that I get to come and fetch her from school.

Appreciation Day 9/28

I have joined the backpack brigade.

After complaining about a sore back, my daughter suggested I try using a small backpack on my days off and travel days to alleviate the stress on my shoulders.

And now I love my backpack!

Appreciation Day 7/28

This year, one of my goals is to finish the entire Harry Potter series – seven books in total.

My daughter has been trying to convince me for years to read them.

I finally started at the end of last year, and so far am really enjoying it!

The joy of reading is something that I appreciate.

Even in the age of Netflix, it’s still a wonderful feeling to curl up in bed with a good you don’t want to put down.

Appreciation Day 6/28

This all started over a FaceTime chat with my dear friend Deane.

She had the idea of doing a 28 day challenge and to share it amongst friends.

Hers is along health, fitness, family, friends and self care.

I wanted to draw again.

I am thankful for long distance friends.

And thankful for FaceTime that allows us to connect.

Appreciation Day 3/28

Sometimes it’s the smallest changes that make the biggest difference.

This is such a girly one.

I started to part my hair down the middle at the start of this year.

Now that one annoying strand of hair no longer pokes me in the eye.

I have embraced that awkward cowlick hair growth direction that defies gravity and all forms of hair products.

Finally at peace with the way my hair wants to go.

And I am so much happier with it!

Appreciation Day 1/28

My friend is doing a 28 Day Challenge, and I said I’d join by doing 28 days of drawings of things that I appreciate.

I have been drawing, just a bit behind on the posting.

I want to thank my GG Running Club members and our coach for giving me the chance to appreciate how fun it is to run. And how great it feels to be able to run.

I may not be running that fast or that far yet, but at least I am running!
