Day 325 – April 25, 2013

I started off today feeling so low energy and almost completely deflated.
Somehow I got myself to work.
And I was greeted by the sweet kindness of my colleagues.
They were all so concerned with why I was the way I was.
Then Olivier took me out for a coffee, and I was reenergized after a good chat.

I am thankful for…

1. My colleagues.

2. Chatting with Olivier about my presentation at the British Chamber.

3. Sharing excitement with Olivier because he gets SO excited!

4. Feedback from my colleagues that help me improve and do a better job.

5. Help from my colleagues in any way or form.

6. Delivering a great presentation at the British Chamber – on the subject of emotional intelligence.

7. Shopping with my colleague Pelle after a great meeting.

8. Finding beautiful necklaces!

9. Enjoying dinner and a movie on a Thursday night – Iron Man!

10. Being happy with the little things in life.


Day 305 – April 5, 2013

Yay! Friday!

On this dark, gloomy and rainy Friday, I am thankful for…

1. A smooth day at work – getting things done one at a time.

2. Slowly but surely some more registrations.

3. Nadia getting her eyes tested – thank you Olivier for a great optometrist recommendation!

4. A calm meeting without much drama.

5. Helping Bea get her mojo back!

6. Formulating plan, plotting missions and realizing dreams!

7. Snuggles with my puppy Pepper.

8. Teaching N & B the elevator speech!

9. Watching Pepper figure out how her treat toy ball works.

10. Speaking to my sweet little niece – hearing her talk about her days.

There is so much to be happy about.

Easter Long Weekend – Day 297 ~ 300 – March 28 – 31, 2013

It’s been a very relaxing (read lazy) Easter long weekend here in Hong Kong.
It started with team drinks on Thursday night and is still ongoing till we return to work on Tuesday morning.

And on these few quiet days, I am thankful for…

1. An extremely fun night out with colleagues and friends.

2. Enjoying movies at home with my two big babies.

3. Finally catching up with my friend Kitty after a long three months.

4. Happy weekend dinner at our favourite Japanese restaurant.

5. Catching up on much needed sleep.

6. A few good finds to add to my more colorful summer wardrobe.

7. Photographs – memories.

8. Tenderly sweet moments.

9. Warm embraces.

10. Lingering thoughts.


Day 276 – March 7, 2013

It’s been a tough week for me, but I have made it to Thursday.

Things I am thankful for today include…

1. Quiet time in the morning to brush my puppy Pepper’s silky hair.

2. Pepper keeping me company while I drink my morning coffee.

3. My colleagues’ staunch support when I am being challenged.

4. Having friends who know just what I need.

5. Mental Toughness – making it, one day at a time.

6. An invitation for a quiet drink that calmed my nerves.

7. Pepper leaping into my arms when I sit on the couch to do my blog.

8. Nadia and Bradley both got offered projects to do!

9. Finding out how happy my little five year old niece was when she received a letter from me.

10. Realizing that my childhood dream pet is now living in my home, in my care.

Day 264 – February 23, 2013

It’s Saturday and I am back home, feeling very grateful for…

1. Waking up at 4:00am – too early but I was looking forward to going home.

2. Not having to wait long for a taxi!

3. A smooth flight back to Hong Kong – I do like the service of Singapore Airlines, a lot.

4. Arriving home to a healthy home cooked lunch by Nadia and Bradley!

5. Napping – I slept for almost three hours. Obviously needed it.

6. Grocery shopping – small joys of domestic home life.

7. Having my Monday work materials delivered to me. Thank you my dear colleagues!

8. Quiet healthy dinner at home.

9. Watching a long slow movie – Marie Antoinette – not quite boring but rather calming.

10. Hearing my niece’s voice – she rings up to tell me how much she misses me.


Day 262 – February 21, 2013

Hectic Thursday!
Thankful Thursday!

I am thankful for…

1. A very smooth end to the 1.5 day training workshop – great participants and great colleague support!

2. My daughter and her boyfriend delivering my Singapore house key to me at the airport express station!

3. Remembering that I had forgotten my keys just at the right moment. The universe loves me.

4. Getting lovely messages from my colleagues.

5. A smooth and uneventful flight to Singapore.

6. A home cooked meal upon arrival.

7. Melancholia melting away when I think of you.

8. Fresh sheets in the bed.

9. Powerful showers.

10. Quietude.


Day 261 – February 20, 2013

It’s been a long and tiring Wednesday but it’s been a day filled with gratitude.

I am thankful for…

1. Last night’s great catch up with my friend and colleague Bea.

2. Sleeping well after a great night of tango dancing.

3. Waking up early and feeling positive about the big day of workshop – working with senior Hong Kong government officials.

4. Breakfast.

5. Support from my colleague Emily today throughout the training workshop, also Alex for bringing the equipment that I forgot!

6. Support from my other colleague Megha with her great program design skills.

7. Support from my colleagues Grace and Pelle for reassuring me with their email messages.

8. The sweetest phone call from my little beloved niece Chloe – how I miss her.

9. Coming home to Nadia and Bradley – having dinner and going for a post dinner stroll along the harbour with them is happiness.

10. Enjoying another night in my own bed before taking off again tomorrow.


Day 241 ~ Day 244 – January 31 ~ February 3, 2013

Putting a gratitude list for four days combined because I got a bit busy, tired and distracted…

So over the past four days, I am very thankful for…

1. A fantastic belated Christmas party with my workmates – a lot of frozen margarita were consumed and a good time was had by all.

2. Watching E.T. again after 20 years – and watching it with my daughter.

3. Watching an amazing movie about acceptance and love – Lars and the Real Girl. Watch it if you haven’t yet.

4. Having lunch with my dear friend Clover – she listens, she gives me her point of view and she shows that she cares.

5. Pondering about the meaning of friendship – what it means to different people.

6. Having enough time to prep for all the work I have upcoming.

7. This new decluttered and organized home – makes keeping it tidy so much easier!

8. Beef tenderloin cooked beautifully – it’s just lovely.

9. Having a really great meeting that means a lot of new opportunities at work.

10. Knowing that my colleagues think and feel the same way about the future as I do.

Day 234 – January 24, 2013

Back at the office on a Thursday and I am thankful for…

1. Sleeping early and waking up early – sure feels good.

2. Not having a sore throat anymore.

3. Having a great (short and concise) morning meeting that came with a great cup of coffee.

4. A very productive morning and getting a number of tasks done.

5. My colleagues help and collaboration in getting those tasks done.

6. Bea’s thoughtful phone call before her flight to Taiwan – hope she has tonnes of fun there!

7. My daughter coming up to the office to have lunch with me.

8. My daughter enjoying the opportunity to spend time with her grandparents.

9. A quiet evening and an early night to rest and get over this cold.

10. The way that you make plans and decisions that I somehow adore.
