Little Things #3: Lost My Sparkle

Last week was a tough week for me.

Had a lot on my mind, a few challenges that had to be dealt with, and on top of it all, I had been travelling quite a bit, and I was probably quite homesick.

And someone noticed.

I had lost my usual sparkle.

I had not expected anyone to notice.

And it was sweet that someone cared enough to say something and ask me about it.

It’s little things like this that make a huge difference to someone.

When someone messages you and asks, “is everything ok?”

When someone makes an effort to make you laugh at the end of a tough day.

When someone suggests watching a funny movie to change your mood.

When someone just cares enough to do something about it.

I think I got my sparkle back this week.

Thank you for caring enough.

Peu á peu

Some days are just filled with as much frustration as there are things to be grateful for.

It’s better to find sweetness in those small moments than to let the disappointments get you down.

I can do this.

Treat Yo Self Part III

We work.

We celebrate.

We have a lot of fun.

We treat ourselves!

A Thousand Oceans

Your eyes carry the weight of a thousand oceans

and the echo of the universe

I promise you…

That you will be happy again.

I have written these words down where I can see them everyday.

A long distance reminder

Yesterday I reconnected with a dear friend in Italy.

We met when we were very young, in a magical castle in Wales.

Now we are mothers, entrepreneurs, businesswomen and still great friends.

She reminded me of why and how I started this blog and these drawings.

I am not only thankful for her friendship, but also for her reminder that our small actions may have great impact on others.

This post is for you Laura, thank you.

Who do you tell?

The saddest and shortest story in the world:

This person had a story, but no one to tell it to.

The end.

————————-

We need to tell our stories.
And we yearn to be heard.
Yet who do we tell our stories to?

This series of drawings were inspired by recent events.

Transformational vs Transactional

Over the past few days, I have had a number of discussions with different people on the often talked about topic of relationships.

I have come to realise that most relationships in life, are transactional.
You do this, then I will do that.
If you can be this, then I can be that.
If I am this, then you are that.

Sometimes, we meet people who transform us.
People who inspire us to be more.

Someone who challenges your notion of what love or friendship means.
Someone who mentors you, inspires you or questions you.

Someone who makes you want to be more.
Be better, be stronger and be YOU.

Thank you for being in my life.
